There are sure to be some excited students around the INTO University of East Anglia campus this morning, as they prepare to join the queue for tickets to the recently announced Coldplay gig, set to take place at the University’s on-campus LCR venue on October 27.
The surprise concert is part of Radio One DJs Fearne Cotton and Zane Lowe’s Student Tour, which will take them on a tour of visit four specially selected student cities, each with a different high profile band to perform for lucky students. Other acts taking part in the tour include Noah and the Whale in Aberdeen, Example in Hatfield and Kasabian in Leicester. With Coldplay undoubtedly being the biggest name in the line up, it is a massive coup for the University of East Anglia.
A UEA spokesperson describes it as a “rare opportunity to see a hugely popular band up close and personal in a good, small live music venue.”
The gig will be broadcast live on Radio One, starting at 7pm, and will include a live audience of students, who will also be featured on the Radio One website.
On sale from 9am tomorrow morning, tickets can be bought exclusively from UEA’s Union House box office. In order to avoid resale at much higher than the £22 face-value price, fans must buy them in person, and entry will be subject to showing a valid wristband. The University are expecting people to begin queuing early in order to ensure they get their hands on tickets. We’re hoping some INTO students will be among the lucky few!
